AU Central Library Opens New Photo Corner Because Your LinkedIn Photo Deserves Better
The AU Central Library at Assumption University has launched a new Photo Corner at the Hua Mak Campus, giving students, faculty, and staff a simple place to take professional-looking photographs without needing to leave campus, book a studio, or pretend that an old cropped group photo is “good enough.”
Located on the ground floor of the Central Library, the Photo Corner features professional lighting and a backdrop that can be used with a personal camera or mobile phone. It was created as an easy, practical, do-it-yourself space for the AU community to take photos for student IDs, CVs, LinkedIn profiles, portfolios, scholarship applications, university websites, faculty pages, staff directories, organizational charts, announcements, publications, and more.
For students, a strong profile photo can help support internship applications, online portfolios, academic presentations, and future career opportunities. For faculty, staff, schools, departments, and offices, the Photo Corner offers a chance to refresh profile images and create a more consistent AU look across websites, directories, reports, and official materials.
The idea is simple: same university, better photos, fewer random backgrounds.
Users are welcome to bring their own camera or phone and use the lights and backdrop anytime. For those who would like extra help, Khun Daeng, Central Library’s Senior Photographer, is available Monday to Friday by appointment. He also offers a Monday morning drop-in session from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m., with no appointment needed.
The Photo Corner also supports schools, faculties, departments, and offices that want to update organizational charts, team pages, and professional profiles with photos that look more connected, current, and consistent. Instead of headshots that appear to come from different years, different rooms, and possibly different planets, AU teams can now create a cleaner and more unified visual identity.
The AU Library Photo Corner is open for students, faculty, and staff at the Central Library, Hua Mak Campus.
