AU Central Library Joins National Conversation on AI and Academic Library Innovation

Personnel from Assumption University of Thailand’s Central Library participated in the seminar “Strengthening Librarianship Networks for Sustainable Innovation in the AI Era,” held from June 16 -17, 2026, as part of the 40th anniversary of the Sub-Committee of the Thai Private University Library Systems and Network Development (อพส.).

The seminar was organized by the Learning Resources and Educational Technology Division of the Association of Private Higher Education Institutions of Thailand (APHEIT), together with ThaiPUL and the Central Library of the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce.

The event brought together library professionals, educators, and specialists to share knowledge and strengthen cooperation among higher education libraries at a time when digital transformation and artificial intelligence are reshaping academic services worldwide.

The program highlighted the urgent need for librarians and library personnel to develop new knowledge, skills, and professional competencies so they can integrate valuable technologies into library services with confidence and purpose.

For AU Central Library, participation in this seminar reflected its continued commitment to service excellence, innovation, and lifelong learning. As university libraries play an increasingly important role in supporting teaching, learning, and research, AU’s library team continues to strengthen its capacity to serve students, faculty, researchers, and the wider academic community.

The seminar featured seminar sessions, a webinar, and workshop activities, with distinguished speakers from Thailand and abroad sharing professional experience and forward-looking ideas on the future of library services in the AI era.

By joining this important professional gathering, AU Central Library reaffirmed its role as an active partner in Thailand’s higher education library network and its dedication to building smarter, stronger, and more responsive library services for the future.
