Enhancing Digital Innovation in Libraries: AU Staff Visit KMUTNB’s Central Library

On Friday, July 4, 2025, library staff from Assumption University of Thailand visited the Central Library of King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) for a study visit focused on “Innovative Library Services in the Digital Era for Sustainable Development.”

The visit was part of an initiative by the Information Services and Technology Group under the Subcommittee on Library Systems and Networks of Private Higher Education Institutions (อพส.), led by Dr. Komdet Boonprasert, Group Chair.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phuyung Meesaj, Director of KMUTNB Central Library, and                     Dr. Rodjarin Rattanasoontorn, Deputy Director of Digital Innovation and Information Resources, warmly welcomed the AU delegation and provided a comprehensive overview of their digital transformation strategies.

The session included knowledge sharing on the implementation of Green Library practices, such as:

Smart Payment Systems for fines,

Digital navigation tools that replace traditional OPAC terminals,

And broader innovations that enhance service quality while promoting environmental sustainability.

The AU Library team—Ms. Patcharaporn Tantipalphan, Librarian, Learning Promotion Services; Ms. Wannthanee Kaewkhieow, Librarian, Resource Management; and               Ms. Wasana Sukorn, Learning Promotion Officer—gained valuable insights and inspiration from this exchange. The visit provided a roadmap to further improve AU Library’s services in alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
