AU Library Staff Explore the Future of AI-Powered Services

Two staff members from Assumption University Library participated in the ELIB & MATRIX User Group 2026 seminar, held under the theme “ก้าวจากระบบห้องสมุด …สู่ผู้ช่วยอัจฉริยะ – AI Library Agent” (From Library Systems to Intelligent Assistants – AI Library Agent).

Ms. Wantinee Kaewkheaw and Ms. Pranee Rumchuanchon represented AU Library at the seminar on 24 July 2026 at the Multi-purpose Space, One World Library Building, Suan Dusit University.

Organized by Book Promotion & Service Co., Ltd., the event introduced emerging AI solutions designed to support library operations, improve access to information and deliver more responsive services to users.

The seminar featured presentations and experience sharing on the application of AI in modern libraries, including intelligent user assistance, automated information retrieval, knowledge discovery and enhanced digital library services.

“AI has the potential to help libraries connect users with the right information more quickly, but its real value depends on how thoughtfully it is integrated into existing services,” Ms. Wantinee said. “Libraries must combine new technology with professional judgment to ensure that information remains reliable, relevant and accessible.”

Ms. Pranee emphasized that AI should strengthen, rather than replace, the human role of library professionals.

“A smart library is not simply one that uses more technology,” she said. “It is one that uses technology purposefully to understand users’ needs, remove barriers to information and create a better learning experience.”

Their participation reflected AU Library’s commitment to keeping pace with emerging technologies and strengthening services that support learning, teaching and research. The knowledge gained from the seminar will contribute to the Library’s continued exploration of responsible, practical and user-centered AI solutions.
