Greening the Shelves: AU Library Hosts Knowledge Exchange on Sustainable Library Development
In support of Assumption University’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, the AU Central Library organized a knowledge exchange session titled “Developing Green Libraries for a Sustainable Future” on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Suvarnabhumi Campus.
The event welcomed Ms. Thanaporn Chimpae, Senior Policy and Planning Analyst from the Kasetsart University Library, as the guest speaker. Known for her expertise in green library development and sustainability assessment, Ms. Thanaporn shared insights and strategies drawn from her extensive experience transforming libraries into eco-friendly, energy-conscious learning spaces.

Held in an informal and interactive format, the session encouraged library staff to discuss practical approaches to environmental conservation, energy efficiency, and user engagement. Participants left the session with greater awareness and actionable ideas for aligning AU’s library operations with green library standards—helping both people and the planet thrive.
This initiative is part of AU Library’s Green Library Project, aimed at creating a welcoming, environmentally responsible space that not only conserves energy but also inspires lifelong sustainability practices among students, faculty, and visitors.
