AU Library Personnel Attended the National DOI Seminar, Advancing Research and Information Services

On November 5, 2024, Assumption University (AU) took center stage at Thailand’s national seminar on “Enhancing DOI Services to Increase Utilization of Research Data,” (ยกระดับการบริการ DOI เพิ่มกลไกการใช้ประโยชน์ข้อมูล ววน.) held at the Ramagardens Hotel in Bangkok. Representing AU’s Central Library were two distinguished leaders, Mr. Somsin Sripraphatsorn, Department Head of Information Resources Management, and Mrs. Wilai Pruesapancha, Department Head of Information Services and Learning Support. Their participation demonstrates AU’s commitment to advancing research and digital resource services, supporting both the university and Thailand’s broader academic community.
Organized by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), the seminar aimed to foster understanding and collaboration on Digital Object Identifier (DOI) services, which are crucial for data accessibility and research integrity. Attendees included prominent figures from research institutions nationwide, all working toward the shared goal of leveraging DOI systems to streamline research access and enhance the accuracy of research citations.

Mr. Somsin, reflecting on the event, shared his excitement about the seminar’s impact on AU Library’s strategic goals. “DOI technology is transforming how research is accessed and referenced,” he noted. “By engaging with the country’s leaders in DOI services, we’re empowered to further strengthen AU’s digital resources, providing our students and faculty with seamless access to high-quality research data.”

Mrs. Wilai echoed his sentiments, highlighting the importance of DOI services in supporting learning and research. “Attending this seminar underscored the pivotal role of DOI in the academic community,” she explained. “Our goal at AU Library is to lead by example, ensuring that AU’s resources are not only accessible but also adhere to the highest standards of digital information management.”
